A superb example of a 100 years old Borgel trench watch. The 40 micron Gold filled case is in beautiful condition. With the serated onion crown and bezel, it looks stunning on a wrist. The porcelain dial with luminous numerals and cathedral hands is delightful. There is a slight chip near the crown, but it is minor. The movement is beautifully decorated and running fine. One for the collection and occasional wear on special occasions.
The Borgel watch case design was an early attempt to make a watch water resistant, using a unique design. The watch is fitted with a brown pigskin strap. Box shown for illustration only.
Dimensions = 11mm between the lugs, 35mm w/o the crown, 40mm with the crown and 40mm lug to lug.
